ANTI RAGGING
- Leaflet given to fresher’s with details of Anti ragging committee and phone number to whom to approach in case of Ragging.
- Constituting of Monitoring Cell. One Mentor for six fresher’s and one mentor of a higher level for six mentors of the lower level.
- Online Affidavit (1) by the student (2) by the parent shall be taken as per the UGC notification from time to time.
- Display of Anti Ragging helpline number for students at places like notice board, common rooms, canteens, classrooms, library toilets and corridors.
- Complains box placed at places accessible to students.
RAGGING IS A COGNIZABLE OFFENCE UNDER THE LAW AND THE PUNISHMENT TO BE METED OUT HAVE TO BE EXEMPLARY AND JUSTIFIABLY HARSH TO ACT AS A DETERRENT. IT MAY INCLUDE-
- Cancellation of admission, suspension, rustication or expulsion from the University.
- FIR with the police and arrest.
- More severe punishment where justified such as fine / imprisonment etc.
- Collective punishment may be imposed where involved persons are not identified etc.
